A crown or a “cap” is a covering placed over the top of your own natural tooth to restore it for both function and aesthetics. Crowns will greatly enhance the appearance of heavily restored, chipped, discloured or misshapen teeth. In some cases they can be used to correct a malalignment of teeth where straightening is not an option. In case of heavily filled teeth, crowns serve to protect the tooth from fracturing under the strain of chewing or grinding and indicated nearly always on root treated teeth. Porcelain crowns are thin layers of porcelain which may be applied to the prepared tooth to dramatically improve its size, shape, and color. Porcelain crowns provide patients with a permanent aesthetic solution in just two visits. |

Veneers are used to solve the problem of stained or chipped teeth and to fill spaces between teeth. The primary function of veneers is to improve the aesthetics. A veneer is a very thin porcelain facing used to cover the front of teeth, to improve the cosmetic appearance. They are permanently attached to the original tooth and recent advances in porcelain technology make them extremely durable and a long term solution to cosmetic imperfections. They involve very minimal preparation of your own natural tooth.
All veneers are hand modeled and tailored for the individual to replicate the natural tooth in colour shape and texture. Great skill is required to produce and bond a veneer that is strong enough and yet fine enough to sit unobtrusively on the natural tooth.
| One of the most popular cosmetic treatments today is tooth whitening. Depending on the degree of discoloration, tooth whitening can be performed in the dental practice or in conjunction with home bleaching treatments.
In Surgery teeth whitening lightens the teeth using a photosensitive gel, which is painted onto the teeth. The whole process takes around one hour. Your gums must be healthy and teeth plaque and stain free for best results. Alternatively “home” whitening can be prescribed. A customised mouth guard into which you add a small amount of whitening gel is worn overnight and after one to two weeks your teeth will gradually lighten. The home kit can also be used to give even more whitening after In-surgery Whitening if required. Both treatments are completely safe but can only be prescribed by a professional. In-surgery Whitening, like home-whitening, may be possible to achieve a change in the colour of your teeth by up to eight shades, however, the benefit of in-surgery whitening is the speed it takes to get results. |

Dull or stained teeth can have their brightness restored simple and painlessly by a hygiene cleaning treatment. Deep calculus and stains are removed by our efficient dentist/hygienist who will be able to use a high velocity sodium bicarbonate water and air gun to remove difficult stains in hard to reach places. Clean teeth are healthy teeth.
The appearance and mouth freshness improves with cleaning. You can be sure that you are active in helping to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
A night guard is a device you wear while you sleep to prevent you from damaging your teeth by clenching or grinding. Worn and cracked teeth and damaged restorations are only some of the physical consequences of grinding, which dentists called bruxing. Related problems include sore jaws, headaches, neck aches and jaw problems.
The cost of cosmetic and restorative dental procedures, not to mention the time and discomfort associated with those procedures, is an investment worth safeguarding. If you have crowns, veneers, or other types of prosthetic dental work, you may want to consider getting a night guard to protect that smile.
Our fully qualified hygienist will clean and polish your teeth and advise you on how to care for your teeth and gums on a routine day to day basis to prevent periodontal disease. Advice is also available for the care of your children's teeth.
