The question that is asked the most by our patient is: When should I bring my child in for a check-up?
It is always better to bring your child/children in for an appointment as soon as they get their first tooth. It is important for them to get used to the environment, the sounds and sitting in the Dental chair. Our dentists can advise you on the best oral hygiene instructions for your child to help you prevent any problems in the future.
We have created a children’s program which helps children take control of their oral health.
Comprehensive children’s visits - (45 minute session, including a scale and polish) £65.00
We use our friendly toys with teeth to demonstrate tooth brushing techniques and disclosing tablets to engage them through play. The main objective of this session is to make them feel relaxed in the dental chair and to motivate them to care for their teeth at home. The fully comprehensive session ends with a scale and polish and a check-up which will included preventative treatments, such as fluoride application and fissure sealants (the biting surfaces sealed)
Regular six monthly visits - (20 - 30 minute session) £25.00 - £35.00
Routine examinations by the dentist, including x-rays (if necessary), preventative treatments such as fluoride application and fissure sealants (the biting surface sealed) as soon as permanent molars have erupted.
Preparing children for dental treatment (15 - 20 minute session) £35.00
This is a great first step to getting children used to being in the dental chair. The children get a chance to “play dentist” and do dentistry on our puppets, this lets them get comfortable with the instruments and procedures that will be used during their appointment.
It’s a great way for children to develop coping strategies, so they can feel more in control. During this appointment, no treatment will be carried out.
Treatments (30 minute sessions) POA
Specific dental treatments are based on the child’s age, psychosocial needs and coping abilities; our goal is always to make it an experience that’s as easy and stress-free as possible for the child. We encourage parents to get involved.
