Now we are able to show you what your teeth will look like after your Invisalign treatment, all of this is done during your free consultation.
From your initial consultation, one of our Invisalign Dentists will be able to go through how the treatment works, the cost involved etc. They’ll listen to your concerns and suggest the best orthodontic option for you. They will then use the iTero 3D scanner to scan your teeth and produce the 3D image of your teeth from the start up until the end of your Invisalign treatment. This great piece of equipment means even if you’re unsure about the Invisalign treatment, you’ll be able to see it on the screen to get a picture of how they’ll look once you’ve completed the Invisalign treatment!
Our patients love having Invisalign, not only is it almost invisible but you can remove the aligners to brush and floss your teeth as normal. No more worrying about getting food stuck in your metal, fixed braces and the metal brackets or wires coming off.
After your consultation and if you’re happy to go ahead with this form of Orthodontic treatment, we will take some photographs and send them off to Invisalign. Using the iTero 3D scanner and photos, Invisalign will create your personalised treatment plan which is all done digitally. We will invite you to come in to discuss the proposed plan and make any changes if needed. This can also be done over the phone because we understand how busy our patients get! Once you’re happy and the Dentist is happy, we will then ask Invisalign to approve your treatment plan and then Invisalign will begin making your aligners!
It usually takes 10 working days for us to receive your Invisalign aligners and we will book you in to fit your first set. The Dentist goes through all of the “Do’s and Don’ts” and tells you how to clean the Invisalign aligners etc. After 2 weeks of wearing your first set of Invisalign braces, we will get you back in for another appointment to fit your “composite buttons.” These are little attachments on your teeth that are made from white filling material and help to move your teeth. Don’t worry, your Dentist will pick a shade to match the shade of your teeth allowing the Invisalign treatment to remain an invisible orthodontic solution!
Usually after this, we see our Invisalign patients every 4-8 weeks in our East Croydon Dental Practice. We will provide you with enough Invisalign trays until your next appointment and from then on it’s usually 10-15 minute review appointments. Our Dental Nurses and Dental receptionists are all aware of how Invisalign works, especially because they’ve had it done themselves, so if you have a question at any point during your treatment, they will be able to help.

Impressions are taken to create custom-made sets of aligners for your teeth only. You will have to wear each set of aligners for 2 weeks and at least 22 hours per day. This means only taking them out when you eat, drink, brush and floss your teeth.
The main benefit of choosing Invisalign over fixed braces, is not only the appearance but because Invisalign is removable, you are able to clean your teeth as normal and maintain your regular oral hygiene.
